A clear, confidential, and constructive review.
Before accepting
Check that the manuscript fits your expertise and that you can meet the invitation deadline. Disclose relevant financial, institutional, collaborative, or personal conflicts to the editor. Accept or decline through the invitation and reviewer dashboard.
Assess the work
- Are the physical assumptions and mathematical steps explicit and consistent?
- Do the methods and data support the conclusions?
- Are alternative explanations, limitations, and relevant prior work addressed?
- Are the figures, equations, references, and data availability information sufficient?
Write the report
Separate major scientific issues from minor presentation corrections. Give specific, actionable suggestions and identify the relevant pages or equations. Enter comments intended for the author separately from confidential comments to the editor. Select a recommendation and submit the report; the editor makes the decision.
Confidentiality
Do not distribute manuscripts, contact authors about a confidential submission, or upload manuscript content to external AI services. Double-anonymous review is the default. Notify the editor if identity or a conflict becomes apparent.
Need more time?
Use the review discussion or contact the editorial office. A request for an extension should include the manuscript number and proposed date.
